BINGO it out!!!  Ever since COVID-19 has struck the world, all of us have seen a drastic change in our everyday routines. While exhausting for everyone, this pandemic has been especially trying for the children who were earlier used to playing outside, engaging with their friends and going to school, and getting involved in multiple activities. To make up for some of this lost playtime, CRY organized an online event under the Masti Ki Pathshala series so that children could get a chance to have fun and engage in some games right from their homes. The event was a fun contest of BINGO.   A few days before the contest day, all children were asked to draw the bingo boxes that would be used while playing. The event began with the moderators explaining all the rules of the game and the winning criteria.  The game involved crossing off the numbers between 1 to 25 written in the box beforehand. The number to be struck out was displayed on the screen and was also called out by the moderators. W

HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS...BUT ONLINE What is Christmas for you? A time of the year which is full of joy and happiness and one celebrates with their loved ones, singing Christmas carols, eating mouth-watering delicacies along with the fun of decorating Christmas tree and our houses, getting together, exchanging gifts and so on. Children especially wait for Santa Clause to arrive with goodies. This year, the pandemic seems to have put all festivities to a halt, but we should not lose hope. Instead, it is time to spend some memorable moments together in the festival of happiness.   Where there is a will, there is a way. At CRY, we made this our motive and tried to find ways through which we could impart this true message of Christmas to our cheerful children and have lots of fun and learning!

QUIZZING       during the times of covid It has been months since we are stuck in our homes owing to Covid-19 which to some extent exhausted us. Children faced severe impact due to this lockdown. They miss going out and playing with their friends, going to school, and getting involved in multiple activities. So we at  CRY,  planned a quiz for the children wherein they would learn while having fun right from their homes. So, in our Masti ki Paathshala series, we organized a quiz called 'Kaun Banega Gyanpati'. There were three rounds in this quiz. The first round was named  Dekho or Pehchano.  In this, the children were shown pictures of various renowned personalities of the country including Sachin Tendulkar, Kiran Bedi, and were asked to identify them. In the second round  Choose Right,  basic questions were asked and the children had to pick the right answer from the four given options. Then we had our final and the most interesting  Buzzer Round.  Hence, the quiz session w

CELEBRATING DIWALI AT HOME Usually, when we think of Diwali, a warm image of brightly lit diyas against the dark of the night pops in the mind instantly along with the bustling hullabaloo of market melas, families meeting up, sharing gifts, and so on. Children especially, have the time of their lives during Diwali, but as we seem to be stuck in a never-ending quarantine, it’s no secret that the festivities are going to be different this time around. However, there’s always a way to have lots of fun by adding a zing of creativity and at CRY we tried to do exactly that for our children! On November 8th Diwali celebrations kicked off early for children at CRY however this time with a virtual twist. Despite the prevailing pandemic putting usual festivities to a halt, the children’s spirits were in no way dampened and they enthusiastically participated in the ‘Masti Ki Pathshala’ held via zoom call from the comfort of their homes. To our intern Jaira... Even after 73 years of Independence, there are a lot of parts of the country in which children are forced into child marriages. 1 in every 5 girls in India gets married before 18 years of age that makes it 12 million in total.  Even after these numbers, we often choose to be quiet on this issue. Recently one of our interns raised her voice against this social evil. In October 2019, in Pushkar, Rajasthan, six minor girls were getting forced into child marriage by their parents. Our intern Jaira Sona Chin, after hearing this news was disturbed and the way she handled this case is more than appreciable. Jaira works with a few local NGOs and has been visiting Rajasthan for several years. She has also been sponsoring child education for nearly 40 years in Pushkar. After discovering the scenario, she turned up to Child rights and you (CRY) and told us the entire scenario. We contacted the local NGO the Women's Public Rights Committee who repo
