BINGO it out!!!

Ever since COVID-19 has struck the world, all of us have seen a drastic change in our everyday routines. While exhausting for everyone, this pandemic has been especially trying for the children who were earlier used to playing outside, engaging with their friends and going to school, and getting involved in multiple activities.

To make up for some of this lost playtime, CRY organized an online event under the Masti Ki Pathshala series so that children could get a chance to have fun and engage in some games right from their homes. The event was a fun contest of BINGO.

A few days before the contest day, all children were asked to draw the bingo boxes that would be used while playing. The event began with the moderators explaining all the rules of the game and the winning criteria.

The game involved crossing off the numbers between 1 to 25 written in the box beforehand. The number to be struck out was displayed on the screen and was also called out by the moderators. With every row, column, or diagonal of numbers that were crossed out, a letter from the word BINGO was crossed out as well. The first child to say bingo would win. After all the rules were properly understood by the children, 7 consecutive games of bingo were played and every single game was, as expected, a competitive affair.

While in the first round, even after calling multiple numbers, there was no clear winner, every subsequent round kept getting more and more interesting, with some rounds having more than one winner at a time. All the children were completely engrossed even though it was a new game for many, and the excitement to win was clear in everyone’s voices, making this event successful and entertaining.
