Health Is The Most Important Gift That You Can Give To Yourself- Health Camp at RK Puram
It is said that
nothing is more important than health for the quality of life. A
health awareness program conducted by CRY volunteers on the issues
pertaining to public health, sanitation, first aid, balanced dietary
plans and nutrition was organized at the 4-day health camp at the RK
Puram PAG starting from 28th of January and kicking off
the new year on a high note.
Although the
program focused on health-related issues, it also entailed the
growing concerns of heart attacks, its symptoms, different diseases &
their prevention, dental health and building physical immunity by
making a healthy dietary program for adolescents.
This program was
different from previously organized camps as this time the CRY
volunteer team took up the case of public health in general. With an
attendance of 71 children and their guardians, the volunteers made
everyone understand that good health is not attained just by availing
good health services, but much of it depends on the people and their
ability to follow healthy practices themselves. In that sense, the
volunteers made it a point to make sure to sensitize the children on
series of issues such as elementary education, economic security and
open defecation; their ill-effects on the health of the society and
ways of prevention. The health week encompassed the central idea of
maintaining standards of healthy living.
The awareness
campaign was a small exhibit of CRY’s commitment towards the
overall physical and intellectual development of children. The event
was concluded with a promise from all the children present- a promise
on maintaining healthy habits and strict abidance to the advices
given to them.
In the end the smile on the face of children and guardians said it
all. As it is rightly said, ‘To keep the body in good health is a
duty, otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and
clear’, we at CRY will always ensure that every child in the
society stays healthy.
