A Perfect Close To A Perfect Year- Christmas and Annual Day Celebrations at Dwarka PAG

The day when every single person felt no less than a child; something like this happened on 25th December, 2018 at the CRY Dwarka PAG. It was a magical event that began with twofold happiness, Christmas Day and Annual Day celebrations.

It was for the first time this year that an event brought both, the parents and the children together, and where love and respect felt intertwined and more so our volunteers felt great experiencing these moments of happiness.

Starting with the lavish decoration, the mesmerizing performances, the delicious food and many fun activities, this year’s Christmas and Annual Day celebrations brought an exciting end to this amazing year.

The plan was to organize the event for approximately 50 children but the enthusiasm among the children for this day led to a turnout of over 70, which really got all the volunteers super excited for what was to come.

The ‘Baarat Ghar’ was selected as the venue, that was decorated so beautifully with colorful balloons and ribbons, that made it seem ready for a week worth of celebrations.

The event began with utmost excitement and the children were given insights about the Christmas and the celebration each year. The children then showed their talent at singing by performing a Christmas Carol, only to mesmerize the audience.

Our children did not stop there; oh no! They had even more performances planned in the form of dances that were so energetic and well-choreographed that the audience could do nothing but cheer them on.

The volunteers also had something special in store for the children. Every volunteer from CRY participated in developing a presentation for the children, showcasing all the small little achievements and moments of success that they had in the year gone by. This brought a lot of beautiful memories among all present and everyone pledged to make the next year even bigger.

What could be better than a fun filled day of performances and mutual appreciation of the work done? An evening of refreshments and to go along with it, distribution of certificates to all the participants in this celebration.

Oh! And did I forget to mention that we had a Secret Santa?!! One of our volunteers dressed up as Santa Claus and made a special appearance to celebrate this day of love, happiness and giving by distributing gifts to everyone present there. This not only instilled a sense of joy among all, but also made everyone realize how a small act of kindness goes a long way in spreading happiness.

The day was not less than a beautiful and fun-filling roller-coaster ride where emotions ran high and everyone had an amazing time right from organizing until the event came to a close. With tonnes of fun and singing and dancing and pictures, this day was etched in the memories of our children and the CRY volunteers as a happy place that they can visit all the time.

At the end of it all, the smile that was on the faces of children made it worthwhile. And isn’t that the reason we’re all working together at CRY every day!?
