A Story of Belief- Mohit's Realization of his Dream at CRY
From dreaming about change to finally achieving it, one such journey was explored by a Gurgaon CRY volunteer Mohit.
‘It grieves
me to see kids begging on the roads and tackling addiction.’ Mohit, a young
adult like us, felt the need to do something about it. And that’s how his
started his journey with CRY.
Mohit’s time
with CRY was an adventurous one. His dream of doing something for the
underprivileged came true here. He started teaching and educating at one of
CRYs’ PAGs, trying to make the children independent. CRY was a platform where
he loved to share his time, ideas and space, knowing that all his efforts were
bringing a change. As in all new endeavors, he faced difficulties in the
beginning, but that did not deter his spirit.
The best
thing during his tenure with CRY was his ‘initiative’. For three months, Mohit
took up the responsibility to teach the kids alone. This injected self belief
and confidence of teaching within him.
Working with
CRY groomed him to emerge a sincere and responsible person. His best experience
was to teach ‘NAVODHYA EXAM’ to 5th graders that helped him garner
the children’s confidence and trust along with an understanding of a child’s
psychology. ‘This experience made me optimistic.’ Mohit was finally able to see
his dreams take shape, filling him with motivation and a positive attitude.
CRY salutes
such volunteers because such everyday heroes become inspiration for others to
contribute their share towards the greater good.
Mohit’s courage,
determination and strength are proof that if one believes in something and sets
out to do it, there is nothing that can stop him. Mohit’s initiative empowered
the children and surrounded them with new hopes and aspirations.
The moral of
the story surrounds itself in giving and taking. By providing new hopes and
aspirations to the children, Mohit was able to develop himself into a better
human being.
