You Too Can Be a Child Rights Champion in Your Everyday Life

Manisha Tripathi is not just an ordinary Sales Floor Customer Assistant with Marks and Spencer; her kind and benevolent aura speaks for itself.

Do you remember the last time you donated the sum of money handed over to you by your favorite aunt when she paid her routine visit to your home every Diwali? Well, not all of us have that kind of heart and this is one reason why I just said that Manisha is not any ordinary person you’ll come across.

It happened so that a shopper stopped by the store in South Extension, seeming a bit perplexed, unsure of what she really wanted to buy, what patterns and more importantly what sizes. It was then that Manisha came to her rescue, attending her with utmost enthusiasm and patience. Manisha made sure that the lady had checked out all the sections in the store and was able to find just the right articles she was looking for. It would be fair to say that the kind lady was on a shopping spree for she spent over Fifty Seven Thousand Rupees on garments ranging from delicate lingerie to fancy clothing and accessories.

Manisha then enquired if she wished to shop for the kids as they had recently upgraded their kidswear section with the latest supplies. It was for Manisha’s constant support that finding right items appeared like a child’s play. The lady ended up spending a total of around Ninety Thousand Rupees in her whole ordeal and impressed by the personal assistance she got from Manisha, she offered her a tip of Six Thousand Rupees. However Manisha politely refused to accept this amount citing restrictions as per management policy. She suggested that it would be better if the donation could be used to bring smiles on the faces of the less fortunate ones. It would’ve made her happier if this amount could be used for those who are in need of it more than her and the lady chose CRY to make this hearty donation.

The lady met the store manager and narrated the incident, touched by Manisha’s generosity and compassion. The Store Manager, Chanpreet, was also very happy. He exclaimed how beautifully his employee was able to pull off her duties on an extremely busy day with such conviction and even went out of her way in performing them.

In this avaricious world, Manisha is an epitome of selflessness, integrity and righteousness. She has set forth an example that you don’t need to be rich to do charity; you just need to have the heart for it. Even the smallest act of kindness tends creates a ripple.
